Abstract/Description

Self-managing teams are an important aspect of Agile change. One result of the change to self managing teams is that managers need to transform from command and control to leading and coaching.

This session shares the 3-year journey of one large-scale organizational Agile adoption. The story focuses on the evolution of scrum master and manager roles and how they work together. Yi Lv describes how self-managing team were introduced and adapted. Yi also describes how those teams tried to sustain the change by creating consistency between Agile values and principles and the manager’s capability to practice them.
