Building Future Leaders and Change Agents

Initiative Purpose

There are many great conferences in India that do their best to impart knowledge to their participants. Still, there are huge gaps in terms of:

  • Building Future Leaders and Change Agents:

Speakers in these conferences are great, but what about the rest of the participants? How do we help them to reach the other side of the stage and become what they aspire to?

  • Imparting practical & usable knowledge:

Passive listening doesn’t help everyone. There is a lack of practical knowledge that can be directly put to use, which comes from experience.

  • Offering a conducive environment for unlearning and learning:

Change is difficult. People struggle in opening up and showing what they know – and don’t know – is a challenge. This makes the process of learning and unlearning very difficult. An environment to unlearn old rigid patterns and unwind the learner’s mind is needed so that participants become receptive to new learnings and unleash their true potential.

  • Sustaining the transformation initiated/achieved:

Just a 1 or 2-day event doesn’t help. An ecosystem needs to be created to support and sustain transformation achieved via Agile events (Conferences, Unconferences, Trainings, etc.).

This initiative will help India meet the above-mentioned needs to build needed Lean Agile Leaders and Change Agents who can shape the culture of the country and help its industries achieve a true Agile Mindset and Culture.

Main Activities

  1. AGILITY TODAY:
India’s third annual 2-day Unconference will bring together Agility seekers, learners, practitioners, and international thought leaders in the space. Here is what it looks like:
  2. AGILE COACH CAMP:
It’s good to start the Unconference with Coach Camp so that the audience already has done much of its intentional networking and is ready to unlearn, unwind, and unleash its true potential with Unconf and its Agility Enabling artifacts.
  3. UNCONFERENCE:
The pivotal point for all spaces is the Unconference. An Unconference is needed so that Organizers can freely design an event with the maximum involvement of the participants and fulfill specific needs. Some possibilities for the Unconference are:
  4. WOMEN IN AGILE AND TECH (WAT):
Women in Agile and Tech (WAT): A 10-week program for women that will focus on mentoring and developing female leaders and provide general assistance to women in the workforce.
  5. ENABLER WORKSHOPS:
Enabler Workshops: Workshops on Agility and Leadership Enablement over a 6-month period to prepare attendees for an Agile Job Fair and future employment.
  6. AGILE CAREER COUNSELING:
Offer career counseling to individuals so that they can upgrade their skills and make themselves job-ready
  7. WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION & DREAM BIG:
A special event for Women to come network and exchange opportunities and knowledge.
  8. AGILE JOB FAIR:
Provide opportunities for job seekers to meet with employers and learn about job openings and career opportunities in the Agile space.
