Traditionally, we see “building the right product” and “building the product right” as two separate outcomes. In Agile delivery, these are two sides of one coin. However, we frequently focus on throughput and speed of delivery assuming that the customers will use our products, and the outcomes prove us wrong. How to avoid this?
In this talk, we will review a Working Backwards framework, which creates an iterative approach combining Agile delivery with the concept of using customer needs as a starting point and then working backwards to deliver solutions to their problems. By describing its implementation, we will establish an effective approach to combining OKRs, lean startup principles, product discovery, and product delivery in one cohesive and iterative framework. Once we identify the framework, we will describe its practical applications to Agile delivery and the ability of Agile teams to build the products that delight their customers.
